“I found my perfect match on eHarmony”

EHarmony is a great dating site for anyone who is serious about finding a long-term partner. EHarmony uses a scientific approach to match you with compatible singles who share your goals and interests. I found my perfect match on eHarmony and we are now happily married.

“Terrible experience. Spent an hour on the site, requested refund, charged £65”

EHarmony is the best marketed / worst product I have experienced. Having a minimum search range of 20km (2 hours commute one way!) is plainly impractical. I spent 1 hour on the site, found six people near me or matching my life style (I don't drink alcohol), immediately requested a refund within 14 days. EHarmony then charge me £65 for a nonsense psych evaluation. Do yourself a favour use Hinge, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, OKCupid or Plenty of Fish

Hardly any men come up for my match. Think I seen one good looking guy. I have as going for run of mill guy which works for me not someone run over the guy kind of mill.
Also none of the guys can talk the very few eHarmony march you up with that is.
That hardly gave me any matches.
I've used daiting sites for years, this one is dire. I've had men complement me in my looks and personality when we meet up so I know it's the site playing funny buggers.
Should of known it was going to be crap when they want money

It's not fair that you don't get a free trial. Especially if the pictures are blurry and you can't see them until you start a subscription. I've been a member since June and I am still waiting for nonwhite men to join eharmony. I called complaining 3+ times, wanting a refund and they're going to give me three extra months for free.

Tip for consumers:
The only portion I appreciate from eharmony are the series of test for them to match their customers. But because the organization just have 1 dominant race of men they should have free tryouts.

It’s like they hype you up
with the series of test…

I wouldn't touch this service with a ten foot pole! They keep billing you and won't refund in full! I was charged one year later and literally contacted them the minute I got notified that I was charged. You can call them just email and won't offer full refund. No customer service - any reputable company would work with a customer and refund then in full if they called the MINUTE they were charged for an auto renewal that I must have inadvertently agreed to a year ago. HORRIBLE SERVICE there are a ton of other dating sites out there. Use them instead!

This is a terrible dating site. The matches weren't even close to what I like. The sparse matches live way too far away. When you try to cancel, they scam you with an automatic renewal, even if you dispute it it's virtually impossible to get in contact with them. I challenge you to speak to someone who is a Human at eHarmony. Do not waste your money with these charlatans!

First and foremost, e harmony renewed my subscription to an account I hadn't accessed in a year in the amount of 500 plus dollars! They did this WITHOUT my permission and when I contacted customer care their only response was that it's their policy to renew in order to provide continuous service! What a rip-off! I was not happy with the service a the low rate I paid to join, now I am completely disgusted! I am among those who believe some of their "matches' aren't even real people. I had no luck at all with them.

EHarmony is the world's largest online dating service. It's a bit of a catch-all category, but I believe it has some distinguishing features. To begin, you can use eHarmony to look for people based on religion, ethnicity, and other factors. Second, they have a plethora of filters to assist you in narrowing down your search. Third, they provide relationship guidance and tools.

Eharmony was one of the first dating sites to use compatibility matching technology, which matches you with people who share your values and lifestyle interests. The company also provides its members with social networking features such as profiles, photo galleries, blogs, and chat rooms where they can discuss relationship-related topics.

When you first sign up (unpaid) you can search matches but all the pictures are blurred out. In my case I saw enough "matches" to go ahead and pay an outrageous amount for a 3 month membership. Result? Not a single match. Not ONE worth mentioning. Once you can see the pictures, trust me they're not even close to what you thought they'd be. RIP OFF, and NO REFUNDS

Eharmony is expensive, yes. Even worse than that there are barely any profiles with pictures. When you try to get your money back because of this, it's a flat NO. If you have ZERO preferences and don't care a thing about your standards in a partner, this is definitely your site! If I could give - 0 stars, I would.

You will be required to pay for a minimum number of months. You will not find less than $300 in subscription costs. You can do this payment in four months, but if you get on and don't like what you see (immediately) you cannot get out of this subscription unless you live in a certain state. If their service was really so good they would not be opposed to a 3 day trial period for all states.

Do not push any buttons when going to check out this site! I warned you, I was looking to check on prices, butterfinger, hit the wrong button and bam. Immediately money was taken from my account. E mailed to resolve, I mean U just did that minutes ago and they said, You are locked I'm no matter what. Even if you never logged into your profile. What if you meet someone and don't need the site? What if you have a sudden financial crisis? You are locked in like a prisoner to no avail. It's more like too bad we got your money, thank you. Do not waste your time or $$$ at E not Harmony.

Don't get fooled by eHarmony! It's a sales gimmick to lure you into paying up to almost $400 if you join for a year and over $250 for six months. They offer very little dating advise and the quality of people on the site is poor, especially for seniors. I tried Match.com and really liked it, they offered better dating advise and even gave a phone number to call to speak to a live person for advise.
EHarmony is a sales gimmick & all they want is your money. It's a rip off.

It's a great way to meet people who share your interests, regardless of whether they're from another country or not. You can either go out on your own or join one of their groups where you meet other singles nearby who share similar interests as well!

So I had technical problems that prevented me from actually communicating with people like 90% of the time. I spoke with someone who said I would get a call back 24 to 48 hours and it's now weeks later and I still don't have a call back. I found lots of horrible reviews online. Wish I would have looked beforehand. Stupid. I'm sure they're sitting back saying yay we got another one!

I used eHarmony for a couple of years and liked it because of the matching algorithm, the detailed profiles we could write and access, and the options to tailor our matches to our preferences such as our religion. I had quite a few dates from the site. Because it was also rather pricey, I had to cancel my subscription. A couple of years later, I went back to try again. However, in the interim, they had changed their system so we could not be matched according to our religion anymore. Instead, they put in general categories like "Christian." When I found out about the change soon after I had re-subscribed, I tried to cancel and get a refund, but they wouldn't do that. I explained in written communication and over the phone that I couldn't just date and marry anybody, I had to date within my religion, that it was imperative to my beliefs, and that they had changed their site so I could no longer match with those of my faith. They said I should just write in my profile what my religion was and whom I would date. I explained that I had already tried that and guys had completely ignored it and contacted me anyway, besides which the point of the website was to help you find a love match and what they were suggesting I do instead was looking for a needle in a haystack of other religions. They were not understanding at all. I could tell the guy I was speaking with either didn't understand the problem, didn't care, or both. So I disputed the charge on my credit card. They turned around and charged me through PayPal instead. Now, years later, I thought I would give them another chance regardless because they were so helpful in the beginning and it's a popular site. I had to go through the whole setup quiz just to find out they have not changed their site back to its former excellence. If your religion is not a priority for you, you may still find the site useful, but for me and those like me who value their religion, it's lost its value.

Title was a mouthful, yet I feel it is necessary to give a proper back drop story. I've been involved in numerous online sites on and off like most folks. The experience with these guys was par for the course. A lot of the problems spring from the types of people using the app and the tech support people who review everything done by participants. I joined up and paid in October 2020. Like anyone new I had a few women send me messages and several view my profile. November came and I stopped logging in until January. I met several quality women in the winter and dated one for a couple of months. We broke up and I logged back on in March. I started to notice that my profile was hardly ever viewed like it was in the fall and winter. People had stopped flirting as well. The interest level was really non existent. Another thing I did hate technically about e-harmony was the ability for people (or tech people to make it appear it was someone) to block others so easy. For instance, when I met the woman I dated for two months in January, I announced on my profile I was in a relationship. So, that I could be kind and fair to people. A viewer of my profile did not like my honesty and regurgitated my statement to me in a message with another message attached to it that she'd blocked me. The site has a pathetic way of announcing you're blocked by stating: 'so and so says GOODBYE.' Once they use that feature you cannot send them a message. I got blocked by a woman I never contacted. I suggested to admin they needed to change this feature so that no 'bad blood' would make the experience aggravating for users. They could not understand why I'd purvey such healthy dignity in how I was to be treated. I also suggested a couple of weeks ago they use a feature like Tinder (even though Tinder is garbage) to set it up where my matches could only be women who had indicated they were physically attracted to my photo or I was in their age range. It makes sense to only want to flirt with people you know would flirt back. I got a response stating that 'they want to give us as many matches as possible and LET US DECIDE'. What that told me was they wanted to keep up appearances that there were more good matches than in reality. I don't have magazine cover looks, yet when I go out in every day life 50% find me attractive 50% don't. I do about average like most well rounded men would do. You get on a site like this. One week you feel like you have something to offer. 4 months later for 8 weeks you feel dog, ugly. Maybe I just went through a batch of good women, then a batch of bad ones. It was just real peculiar how that worked. When I paid for 9 months I announced I was not renewing during the onset of the contract. I'm a guy in my forties looking to date younger out of necessity in wanting a family of my own. The women I encountered on E-harmony were mostly socially inept, insecure 'church' type people. Those tend to be more restrictive in things like age. This is not a good site for seekers of age gap relationships. No one told me that... I just sensed it. Then again it's hard to know if my profile was hidden at times or I was intentionally mismatched with women in the end so I'd crave more matches and pay for a new subscription. Two days before my paid membership expired I attempted to announce on my profile I was no longer a paying customer and could not communicate if messaged. I want to be fair to people. I got an email from tech support stating I was not allowed to announce it. Seems as paying customers we have the right to announce what we want to announce. Makes me wonder why they don't condone integrity. That same day I opened my message box to see that I'd been blocked again. This time for liking someone's comment. No message, just pressing the 'thumbs up' button. I know there are some grasping people online, but still felt it was improbable someone would block me for that. I honestly didn't remember even viewing their profile. Usually when you do there is a mechanism on the left of your profile showing who you had interaction with. I don't remember seeing the 'ghost' member who had supposedly blocked me on that list anywhere. I remembered I accidently set up two accounts from October. It appeared tech support was up to some shenanigans trying to get me angry again about being blocked by a member I barely contacted, if I had at all. Before that I had announced on my profile I was not renewing and was going inactive. The pattern was as the time before. When I either announced I was going inactive or taking a break then, all the sudden, I'd supposedly get blocked by someone. I also announced on my profile that morning: "This account is inactive. Membership expired." I got a notice that my new profile message was not accepted. I went back and wrote: This account is inactive. I never got another message telling me to change it. I think they realized they couldn't win. The same type of thing happened with my account on Match.com about a decade ago. From my accidental first account I noticed the day after my legitimate, used account expired I got a message claiming a woman two hours away had sent me a message. After months of not getting anything happening on that account from both ends. I already deleted my used account. Still working to delete my accidental one, I had to use a password. When I requested an email to allow me to change it to finally delete, it never arrived in my inbox. Pathetic. The tech support people who run these sites are vindictive, insecure people who want to control others. They lose their crap when they come across someone assertive. You have to decide whether you want to leave your dating fate up to these types of factors you can't control compared to walking up and introducing yourself on the street. I finish this review better off knowing I'll go down to the local coffee shop and get a smile and a flirty message from the barista behind the counter. I'll do that instead to get a sense of what is real in how I fit into the dating paradigm.

Tip for consumers:
Vindictive and insecure tech support monkeys. Not good for age gap dating.

The worst. They only care to lock you in a contract to take your money because they know if you had any free time with the app you'd probably stop using it. Quality and quantity of matches are low and now your stuck paying hundreds of dollars for an app you don't use

There is no way to get out of the payments once you start

Please don't fall for their marketing scam. If you get on there you are hooked in for at least six months. What a waste of money. The only person who liked me was a 74 year old invalid and I am an attractive fit 68 year old woman who recently lost her husband. If they were legitimate they would refund your money, but they aren't!

Tip for consumers:
That you do not get a refund or more importantly can’t get out of a contract that you aren’t even aware you have signed up for! Deceptive isn’t a strong enough word.

I subscribed, and cancelled it in less than 24 hours. They charged me £95, and refunded £30. When I questioned the rationale behind it, I was told that the £65 was for the WORTHLESS, STUPID, RUBBISH personality profile. It's complete nonsense - the personality profile. It's created by some dodgy software.

Purchased the premium, see what it was like. Felt exactly like Tinder. I wanted to cancel within the three day grace period. Come to find out it's only applicable in about 4 states to receive a refund. $171 well wasted. With no help from the team you could easily feel that it's a MONEY SCAM. Just collecting every cent they can. Will never go back and will always recommend for people to stay clear of this terrible company.

There is no full refund. They sent you an email for your personality report (based on what you told them about your personality :)) immediately after being a member to prevent you claim a full refund. Even if you cancel your membership within an hour, they charge you £65 for the report that you did not request or purchase.

Everything about e-harmony is awful. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Terrible interface. "Matches" that were on no way compatible. Expensive. Fake profiles. I could ho on and on. Buyer beware. They could care less how dissatisfied you are. Once you sign up you are locked in. Never again.

Tip for consumers:
Just don’t sign up! Most old fashioned and out of touch dating site I have ever been on!
