And they come through each time. The response time is fast and the service is efficient. They send payment reminders on time too, but everyone does that. The hosting and domains are reliable as well. Haven't had any problems so far. Hope to continue with them for a long time if they can maintain their services.

Email is increasing spotty. Financial institutions have reported my email addresses bounce back as undeliverable. I suspect the servers are just over whelmed. No good.
I conducted deep research before purchasing and compared the hosting companies' belongings, their CEO's, founder, past history, reviews then, I figured out, this will be best option for shared plan :)
Non-existent customer support. Waited over an hour for a rep in online chat. They require you to pay for hosting just to be able to modify your DNS records. I have never heard of that before in all my years reserving domains! - David Shapiro (I always put my name as I stand behind any review I would post)
UPDATE
In my second interaction with their support, they were amazingly helpful, very responsive and knowledgeable. I spoke to a colleague who also uses their service and she raves about them so I will attribute my first bad experience as an anomaly and change my review from 1 star to 5 stars.

Not Go, that's for sure. Got tired of getting charged for every little thing, so switched to HostGator a few years ago. Decent rates, good tech support, free SSLs and email accounts, etc. Highly recommended!
Horrible support. After a couple of decent experiences, couldn't change active theme on my WordPress site. Two support people tried changing it and couldn't do that either. Escalated to their "WordPress Specialist" and scheduled a support call for 11am this morning. Of course nobody called. I ended up fixing the issue on one of my websites by uninstalling and re-installing WordPress completely. The other site is still broken. No support available. Asked them for my money back because I want to switch hosting company but they refused. Will be initiating chargeback via credit card.
Another issue, Force HTTPS Redirects is not available (grayed out/disabled) for both of my sites in cPanel. Had to edit my.htaccess file to fix that. At least they had a video for that, Still wasted over an hour on that.
They are cheap, but you get what you paid for.
Tip for consumers:
Don't. Just don't. Pick anybody else.

Host Gator has the worst service and support possible! Their hosting is extremely slow, while their support is unprofessional! My websites are running very slow and whenever I call a support I get a random guy who doesn't have an idea what to do to solve the problem. If you email or try to talk to a senior position, you get promises that your website will run smoothly in a couple of hours, but at the end you only get empty promises. The slow hosting continues and you lose visitors/customers. Avoid them at all costs!
Tip for consumers:
Avoid Host Gator at all costs! Their service is the worst! Their hosting is very slow!

I am still having issues with sent emails, through Google) ending up in the recipients Spam folder. I found on the Google site what I thought might help resolve it and the Host Gator support tech helped me make the changes suggested but I (and my employees) are still having the issue. There is still some "finger pointing" going on between Google and HostGator.
Tech support person was helpful in implementing what was described to me as a "fix" for my issue. Still not resolved and not sure where to turn.

Customer service is poor. Features are limited. Siteground is better. My interaction today with the chat was worse than speaking to a chat bot. I asked for a refund for a canceled service and the representative responded, "I'm still trying to analyze the root cause of the issue." There was no issue. This type of confusing interaction continued for 20+ minutes. I've moved all of my sites from Host Gator for issues like these and recommend my clients do the same.

I called Hostgator because we were hit with Hurricane Ian...All phone #'s were changed. The girl told me how to update my phone # for billing, but most important, and not addressed...on my website, the phone # is incorrect. She said she could not address that and someone would call be back and she marked as urgent. Til this day - 5 days past - I have had no call back. Hostgator designed my website and there doesn't seem to be a way to change or edit the title which is on home page and where the phone # is incorrect. So as it stands, since 9/28 - people call and get that the phone is no longer in service and think we are out of business. I receive no business calls any more. (2 months)

I´ve choosed Hostgator in 2017 when I started my blog, and have been with them since then.
The Support team is the best, they always solved my issues swiftly.
Also it´s super useful that it can be reached by chat since English isn´t my first language and I don´t understand it very well by phone.
My blog grew into a nice business and never went offline (except for the times I´ve messed it up :P )

Host Gator has no clue how to handle a server updgrade. Our VPS server was down for 33hrs while the tech support kept saying 5-30min. They had no insight or updates, just "we're performing a migration to upgrade". After 33hrs of downtime the server was back up for about 24hrs and now it's down again. Tech support said the migration will be over "today". So, that's another day of missed revenue and angry clients. 4 days to perform a migration is just awful. Once the server is back up I'm getting a refund and moving my sites elsewhere.

So far so good. Wondering why my site seems to go offline for 10 minutes per night for the past two nights. Will inquire further if it keeps happening. Online support is mostly helpfull. Had one experience where I had to repeat myself 2 or 3 times to get the point accross but other than that, all good!

Saw a promo on a youtube video and upon visiting and lookimg for reviews, I thought it was a good option for my business.
I chose the business plan because I don't want to worry about storage space or number of domains as I have 1 site that is live and a second one that is in the works right now, but plan on having more in the near future. I also transfered a domain I had registered with Google in the past, so yeah, pretty satisfied so far with what I got for my money!

I have several websites for each specialty that I offer and for some reason when I built this one there was something wrong with a plugin that kept locking me out. The tech support was very patient and got me back into the website which had locked me out. It kept happening, so I eventually had to start the entire website over from scratch, after literally reaching out for support four times. This was the first time I needed extensive tech support in the several years that I have been working with this hosting company. Also, I love that they keep adding new features. I appreciate the SSL certificates. I was a total novice when I first started with hostgator and I remember having a lot of questions in the very beginning even though I had read the website information because the concepts were still new to me and they were very patient then as well.
Tip for consumers:
This hosting company has been around for years. They make it very easy to build a wordpress website. I have something like twenty websites with them.

I heard about in Youtube, my former provider was Godaddy, their IT support its good, they resolves problems fast, always respond the chats. About 3 weeks severals mails took too long to be delivered and many of it never did, tried to communicate with chat support and they never answerd, only once, then 3 times doesn't answered.
Hope that the service will be fine again, dont want to come back with Godaddy.

I love hostgator, I'd recommend it to people. Chanel is easy, I pretty much use it for my test sites, demo and once and a while I get someone who wants me to host a site. I've never had a problem and pricing is reasonable.

I had an issue with Joomla and they helped me resolve it quickly.
I looked at other hosting and the hostgator baby account is perfect for a small hosted server where you have a maintained management system. I could have just rented from aws or azure, but the ease of use of hostgator services along with hosting my server makes the most sense for me.
