After going through the phone verification process 4 times, I was forced to use the video chat option on my computer because the site would not accept my T-mobile phone number during the last stage of verification. Yes, that means that each time, I uploaded new pictures of my driver's license and scanned my face. It was a massive waste of time. The agent asked me to hold up my ID paperwork three times, and even told me to get up and move around the room until he could see it better. Embarrassing.

Setting up your account or changing a forgotten password are a bit of a chore, but once you have a profile the process is very smooth. I usually find government related websites to be somewhat behind the times, but they actually seem to be fully with the times on this one. No issues with being looped back a million times based on using desktop browser with cellphone-based 3 factor authentication, which is not what i was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised!

I had a hard time submitting the required picture ID not because of technical issues but because you had to actually hit the submit field to bring up a menu of what method you wanted to use to get the picture to them. Very bizarre. Once I deciphered the non instructions all was fast and smooth. Except for an error message telling me to try again later. After wasting all that time submitting photos etc I was pissed off completely and just said forget this right now. Then, about a half hour later I received a text and email saying everything was great, I had been confirmed.

So. It worked. That's a good thing because basically it's the only option the IRS gives you to confirm your identity, but there could be just two or three explanatory sentences added to the instructions to avert 99% of the frustration I felt using the platform.

Simple instructions and the process was quick. The face scanning takes a little adjusting but you get good feedback in the process (the system gives you direction i. E. 'move left') which was very helpful. Login.gov never accepted any photo or even a scan of my drivers license- it was downright maddening.

After multiple attempts over two days of sending pictures, scanning myself and even driving to a different city to a full service dwd office; I finally got successfully I'd went sent to the video chat.

The young lady there was polite, curteous and competent. She had me verified in minutes using the same documents I had submitted clear pictures of numerous times. God love human beings!

Have your photo identifications handy. Make sure you plan a lot of time for the process. Be prepared to be frustrated.

Never respond to emails. I waited 8 hours to get to a video call with someone and she asks me to send email to support. I did the last few weeks, no response no response no response! Only automatic emails no live person to resolve issues! I've been hold up here too long unable to complete my UI application. Someone please do something about this company! I will write to White House! No service! But it hold up people's files!

The site navigation is highly user-friendly if you're even a little tech-savvy.
I wish I had been able to do the "self" check option but was disabled due to some odd technicality wherein they told me my phone number was not linked to my name. I tried again, and still the same issue popped up. So that was a waste of time. Highly annoying. I had to dig up a couple more documents in order to do the video call option instead.
The service agent I video called with was very pleasant and helpful.

After spending 25 minutes uploading scans of my ID, inputting all kinds of personal data (address, phone, email, birthdate, SSN), confirming 2-factor authentication via text and email, allowing a credit report check, submitting to a biometric scan now they say I must video chat with their live agents to verify 3 more documents. It's frightening that a private company can collect this much personal information about individuals.

The timeframe to actually complete the process (if it even works at all).

I've "successfully processed" my identity 5 times with no avail... ID.me never adds my ID to my active approved ID's. This is so very frustrating and it's creating a financial hardship because this identy verification is for unemployment.

I had previously wrote an awful review and need to correct a judgment. I was finding it impossible to get through to the video chat verification portion of id.me. Someone suggested that I continually refresh the page so it keeps an updated accurate timed session. It worked. It still took five hours, but it works. Video chat was 5 min. And I'm on to the next stage of finally getting unemployment. Good luck to all out there.

ID.me is mandatory in CA for the DMV as well as some apps like Door Dash (if you want to be a driver). At first I was not thrilled with having to go through the steps, but the program is user friendly and so far I have not had any hiccups or constant errors when using the program. And on the plus side it helps to keep our identity safe, which in today's world is much needed.

This is the most confusing frustrating demeaning website I have ever been on. It took me 26 hours to get this whole thing completely done. Try not to get frustrated roll yourself a big fat joint. Take a Valium have a drink do something to relax yourself and then do it.
Because you will need patience big time. Nevada unemployment should done in the beginning why are they doing this in the end.
All I can say is good luck and I feel so sorry for anyone that it's just starting this websites fiasco...

I asked them to explain why, when prompted to join their video chat, I was unable to use my pin requested to join. And why Microsoft volunteered for me to use a key they had and it worked. I am still stressing about this. I cannot say I love ID.me as they write I should in the title of their email. SAFETY is far more important to me and this principle has been ignored in terms of feedback as to why this happened. If they don't know why at least they should address it back to me.

I'm pissed off bc I'm been temporarily suspended for no reason. Did not receive an email phone call text or anything saying I was the reason why or anything else would like this information to be accessed but of course no one will get back to me. I think this is $#*!ing stupid as hell. Somebody needs to get off their butt and do something and let people know why they're being suspended or temporarily suspended or anything else that goes on with their ID me account and one way shape or form! Furthermore not getting a hold of people is wrong so I don't like this really is stupid when you don't receive an email I contact or anything from the company that is sending you or whatever needs to be reported as soon as possible to anybody possibly it can be possible because not letting people know isn't right isn't respectful or anything else

My son is differently abled as they call it now. So getting his verification was a bit more complicated, however what a great team. The agent who called to verify took extraordinary care of him and he was able to do it himself. I use the service myself and it's great as well but never encountered having to be verified personally as my son did. Great example of just explaining and talking the time. I scanned my documents on a high quality scanner. I answered all their stupid questions. But then they said I still needed a live agent to verify me. No explanation why. It took days for them to get around to getting back to me. And then I had to wait on hold for almost two hours. That was after I was finally at the head of the line! And what did this guy do? Asked me to hold up my documents to my crappy web camera! There is no excuse for this, other than that you have no choice if you need to connect to the IRS web site.

It began when ID.me’s CEO and founder Blake Hall, a decorated Army Ranger, watched a military veteran display their DD214 separation paperwork to a store employee to claim a military discount.
