Now Match Group has completely ruined the last actual useful free dating app/site, because the competition was too hard for them. 10 likes per day limit on the free version. Most likes/views are from halfway round the globe by bots that never get taken down. Most local profiles are dead ends of people that left the app/site and never deleted their profile but will never get removed so that Match group can continue to sell ads space by using inflated user numbers.

Don't believe it's free! Try J4Dates.com if you are serious about dating. They have plenty of real people who also take their search seriously. Not that OkCupid type of people who put up ugly photos of themselves or write gibberish in their profiles or contact you without reading your profile and then suddenly leave chat without saying good bye - it all happens repeatedly on OkCupid, it's a normal thing there. It's just a huge waste of time for nothing!
OkCupid claim to be partially free but in fact they make you pay for every step. They have no quality members.

I paid almost $90 dollars for a three month membership, only to get, at most maybe ten messages from men that were all from out of state despite my settings. After messaging with them for a few minutes, most of them seemed decent and stated they were looking for a long term relationship but shortly after we got to chatting the conversation on their part became sexual. It was a real turn off as I'm looking for a quality person. I made very clear what I'm looking for on my profile but the site is full of cringy men looking for hookups. I had utilized OKCupid before between 2012 to around 2019. I was able to land a number of quasi successful relationships. Years later, when I was in a place in which I felt online dating was called for again, I decided to return to OKCupid, especially after reading on one news site that compared dating apps, and noted that a strength of OKCupid was the large database of participants. I pulled the trigger and set up my profile. I was very surprised by the number of likes that I had received, especially compared to other dating apps I had tried. I received 80 within a 24 hour period! I should have been more suspicious than I was. Thinking that I did not want to miss out on an opportunity, I decided to do something that I did not originally plan, that is to purchase a premium service. I went with the mid-tier 3 month for just under $90. When the transaction was complete and I could see who actually supplied those likes, I IMMEDIATELY regretted my decision and felt like I had blown close to $100. Only two of the likes came from my home state. The vast majority of them came from Kenya, Uganda, Philippines, and Thailand. I had even applied a 25 mile limit in my preference section. What's worse is that I had emailed OKCupid customer service to address my displeasure of this interface design, and voiced that I thought there was some deception involved in getting their customers to go premium, but after several days, they have not even bothered to respond. On top of that, the selection of local singles/participants is quite limited. Avoid OKCupid at all cost.

The site is clumsy, the like button doesn't work. When you send a message and they respond you can send additional messages. There is no search engine to find the ideal person. You have to struggle thru the site mistakenly to find anyone. Your bombarded with people from overseas that you would never consider. It's expensive compared to other sites. Not a site to find someone easily.

I purchased upgrade and my matches that they sent were not even close it's a joke not even worth 1 star I cancelled after one day and they really sent garbage the matches were not even in distance specified by me don't waste your time and money on this you got a better chance on a street corner than this site

I am very sad that I have to lower my rating from 5-star to 3-star. Edit: And now to 2 stars. Every change in recent few years made it worse and worse. Also, every change of interface created tons of glitches. First the site stopped showing who visited you. It's o. K, because it made messaging and likes more important. Than they removed the possibility to see when someone was online. So you can be stuck in messaging someone, who wasn't there for years. Then they opted out messaging, unless you match with someone. It would be o. K, if girls were clever enough, to understand the principle of Liking and Matching. 90% of profiles now claim "Message me, I don't see likes". Recently they introduced some form of instant chat client. Which is so buggy, it's awful to use. Especially on mobile version. Speaking of mobile... I never could use mobile app, because it was not available for my region. And later because my device is not compatible. The most recent change is they limited number of Likes per day. It would be o. K, if it also wasn't so glitchy. Twice already my limit time expired, but magically it instantly renewed for another 24h on itself. The latest is that in Browse users you don't see those "who you liked" anymore. Are you people doing it deliberately, to destroy the site?

Be careful, even if you sign up for only 1 month, they will continue to charge you unless you cancel. I recommend you cancel right away if you DO join. You still get to keep your membership for the remainder of the month, it just won't charge you when it's over. The paid version also isn't that great. You're better off just messaging random people than waiting to see who likes you. Messaging is free.

I have used the free version in almost all services. I like the algorithms of this site, as it helped me find a nice person. Although often finds not the best. I hope for algorithm improvements, because I really like this service.

Don't waste your money like I did purchasing OkCupid what a joke unless you're looking for a mail order bride as the stacks of profiles they provide you with, and I had my options wide open, yeah my stacks still became empty after 20 maybe 30 profiles and I was left with only the foreign stack available, yeah Green Card girls. It's as if they have no local customers to show you but I'm sure there's millions of lonely lives that fell for their lies.

This went from being the best dating app (2016) to the absolute worst, you can't message, you can't answer specific grouped questions, Christ you can't even "like" more than ten people a day now! They approve accounts that are clearly someone using American Instagram pictures but claiming to be British because African & Russian scammers don't know the difference! It's basically a pile of crap. And then you want £50 a month... seriously?!... Wt* is wrong with you folks!
