ORGANIZATION: Sister Cities Project

Sister Cities Project is seeking an expereinced grant writer to help research and pursue funding opportunities, and to help manage those opportunities. Individuals will gain hands-on experience in fundraising and grant writing, and gain a better understanding of non-profit management. Individuals in this position will have the opportunity to build a strong professional network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research potential fundraising opportunities
  • Acquire sponsorships from local businesses
  • Create and maintain a calendar of proposal deadlines
  • Assist in grant writing and proposal creation
  • Assist with additional resource development and fundraising project needs, if interested
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong interest in Sister Cities Project mission
  • Previous experience with fundraising and/or grant writing (preferred)
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Desire to learn about non-profit management and resource development
  • Self-starter who takes initiative
  • Dependable, adaptable, flexible, and punctual
  • Complete a volunteer application

Sister Cities Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created to partner affluent communities with underserved communities and create programs and events that build new relationships and deepen cultural understanding.

Description

The practical execution of the Sister Cities partnerships would be to create programs and events that allow the two areas to collaborate and share resources in an effort to forge relationships and provide opportunities for mostly white and/or affluent communities to support black businesses, black youth, black history, black organizations and black arts. And although Sister Cities Project does not exclude the participation of men in our programs, we are focused on prioritizing black women.
