Our mandate is to reduce risks for children and vulnerable people online. We started a Change.org petition that has 10,000+ signors to make it MANDATORY for ALL social media sites to have age/ID verification for everyone! Adults shouldn't have the ability to chat up children online!! We are planning protests, rallies and a hardcopy petition across the US and Canada (and eventually around the world) to further our mission. We need people in major geographic areas to help with planning, recruitment of local team members/activists and become ambassadors of our causes. YOU: -Should be a good communicator & a LEADER -Have an idea of how to work well in teams -Should be a good listener -Should be passionate and want to protect children -Shouldn't be afraid to be start conversations about these issue with your family, friends and community -Should be following and sharing our socials -Should be at least 18 years of age ( If you're under 18 please just follow our socials & share - as we currently do not have a policy in place for working with young persons) THE PLAN: -We are building a team in multiple jurisdictions that will help plan/execute our rallies and protests -We will be meeting in groups on Zoom until COVID calms down -We will be preparing different events, plotting unique ways to garner support and send our message -We will be advertising and marketing events to build support until in person events If any travel or expenses are necessary, we will be covering these. This may turn into a paid role. There are 13 (10min) episodes. Each fictional/dramatic/scripted episode demonstrates different dangers online for children or vulnerable persons. This team will work on writing, producing, casting actors and overall production of an audio podcast plus a visual component. Writers or producers are needed for planned Season 2. We are DEFEND, a nonprofit looking to reduce risks for children and vulnerable people online! See more about us and our projects here: www.HelpUsDefend.com We are producing a FICTIONAL, dramatic, scripted podcast. Primarily for audio podcast platforms but we have 6k subscribers on our Youtube and we want to have visual elements (best described as explainer video quality) for a companion to the series. There will be 13 episodes in season 1. We have video producers for 3 of those so far (2 are complete). So we are looking for 10 episodes to be animated at approx. 7-15 minutes of runtime for each episode. We are looking to release episodes beginning October 31 and animations would need to be completed by mid-November. We will supply you with storyboards for the episodes you would work on. DEFEND is an international volunteer-run not-for-profit corporation. We look to reduce risks for kids and vulnerable people online! Members of DEFEND's Advocacy Team are responsible for managing stakeholder relationships, outreach to the public and more. The Team is working on rallies, in person protests, petitions to change laws and make everyone safer online and more! Event planning and/or marketing experience would be helpful. Advocates of all kinds (not just legal) are encouraged to apply! One of the Team's projects: We are seeking to have age/identity verification MANDATORY on ALL social media. We are petitioning the Governments of Canada and the US to begin with. We have more than 60 volunteers from around the world who work with our organization on a regular basis. TIME COMMITMENT: A few hours per week, ongoing (remote work) Key Responsibilities Handle personnel issues Be a team to handle resignations and oversee disciplinary measures for volunteers who are not acting within DEFEND's code of conduct.
